Almost exactly one year ago, I kicked off this newsletter with a two-part essay on how a real-world dystopia resulted in one of history’s greatest tragedies, Ireland’s Great Famine. In Part 2, I drew parallels between the way the Irish were set up to perish in this famine by the British ascendancy, and how we moderns were being set up for similar tragedies through government Covid policy.
And now, here we are.
It’s always just a matter of time before bad government problems turn into bad government solutions.
This week, the United States and other world governments are engaged in a collective performance of feigned innocence. As we thoroughly covered in last week’s dispatch, the Powers That Shouldn’t Be want you to think Putin is to blame. But although the situation has certainly been compounded by the war in Ukraine, disastrous pandemic policies are primarily to blame.
Once upon a time, there was a virus. Two years of two-weeks-to-flatten the curve and 20 trillion dollars later, the food shortages, as Joe Biden so eloquently put it, are “real.”
And now, apparently intent on making the shortages even real-er, governments all over the world are busily building frameworks for food rationing. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but as of this writing, rationing has already commenced in Europe. Gas in Germany, flour in Greece, sunflower oil in Spain. And it’s only going to get worse.
I’m no expert, but I did predict massive global food shortages were imminent, way back at the beginning of lockdowns. I now expect food rationing to hit the United States soon. Possibly by midsummer.
But again, I’m no expert. Take it with a grain of salt. If you can afford salt.
In the state paradigm, shortages are usually followed by forced rationing. And what comes after rationing, you might wonder? Well, in terms of food, the next most obvious effect of shortages is famine. Even now, researchers are warning of a return of famine to Europe.
Rationing will be “temporary” at first.
“Temporary” is written in quotes because very little the government does is ever actually temporary. Examples like the “emergency wartime income tax” and “two weeks to flatten the curve” come to mind.
They will say it is temporary in order to ease the minds of the public and prevent rioting or violent overthrow. But in reality, their every action has been leading up to this for the past two years. They were not only expecting food shortages, they did everything they could to cause them to happen. What’s more, they told us what they were doing and what they were planning to do, every step of the way.
And so the food rationing will not be “temporary” in any meaningful sense of the word. It will drag on. It will be endlessly extended, moralized, and codified. They will win the majority over to it through gradual habituation until “that’s just the way it is, nothing I can do about it” turns into “food rationing is the price we pay to live in society.” Before we know it, the abundance, opportunity, and choice of our former, global capitalist economy will be only a distant memory, and just like a unit of livestock, you will be confined to your paddock. You will do what is expected. You will eat what you are given.
Some of you are still in denial about the fact that the Great Reset is a true elite conspiracy, aimed at getting the tax cattle under control. And it is your refusal to accept reality that has enabled and hastened the implementation of this war against humanity. You have very little time left to open your eyes.
The majority of Americans are still oblivious.
Americans know that their grocery bill is a lot more expensive than it was last month, but they are largely clueless as to why, and have been doing nothing to prepare for long term, widespread food insecurity. With little exception, that goes for every level of American society, from the federal government to state and local governments, to civil institutions and right down to the level of the individual.
We are, by and large, a bunch of spoiled first-worlders who know next to nothing of true privation. We’ve always had our economic struggles, sure, and poverty does exist here. But, speaking as someone who has experienced American poverty, I can say that up until now, it has been extremely difficult to go hungry in our super-abundant civilization. Food could be obtained for free or very cheap from a really huge number of sources: food stamps, subsidized school lunches, free community pantries, soup kitchens, discount grocery stores. Hell, even just by dumpster diving in America you could eat really well compared to the poor in many countries. (Ask me how I know.)
I’m afraid that era of super-abundance is over, for now. Those who recognize that and do what they can to prepare will fare better than those who remain oblivious. Not only in terms of physical survival, but in terms of the survival of our humanity—our freedom, agency, and self-respect.
To echo back to that essay on the Great Famine, DO NOT LET THEM LEAVE YOU WITH JUST POTATOES.
In the meantime…
I’ll tell you what the presidents of the world won’t. You need to plant a garden and get some chickens or rabbits.
Increasing your self-reliance, even by degrees, reduces your dependence on the state in this manufactured catastrophe. The more people who do this, the longer we can hold out, strengthening our defenses against the anti-human agenda and bettering our chances of winning this war.
Hold on to that thought. My next newsletter will contain solutions, ideas, and resources for minimizing the impact of inflation, food shortages, and forced rationing on your life.
