Is it insane to think that a handful of people can change the future of humanity just by focusing on their own inner growth as it relates to their outer integrity and effectiveness?
Maybe halfway insane.
But the world is more than half crazy, so a little bit of insanity might prove to be our best defense.
What if we each adopted the attitude that we actually do have a measure of control over the future? If you didn’t hold the belief that a dystopian future is set in stone, that techno-feudalism will be imposed on you no matter what you personally do? Just with that small attitude adjustment, what would your actions today look like? How would they be different from yesterday?
Would you spend less time binging Netflix? Doom scrolling Facebook? More time working on something meaningful to you?
Would you put more energy into making connections or building parallel economies in your community, practicing the level of responsibility that you can only preach on social media?
And, with enough people making the same change in outlook, could that build into something so crazy it just might work? After all, what is humanity’s future if not an amalgamation of each individual’s actions today?
It’s true that those self-appointed architects of the future hold more political power, more wealth, and more influence than any of us regular folk. But beyond that, they also have a secret weapon: the illusion of powerlessness.
Because they hold high positions in society, have all the political connections, and hold influence over media narratives, they can maintain the illusion that they control the course of the future. But, as we just established, the future is created by each individual’s actions, not by a select few.
If we stop believing this illusion, we take away their most effective weapon against us.
So what do we have to lose?
If you’re ready to take away the elite’s secret weapon and thereby unfuck the future, I invite you to join us at Extremists Being Awesome. We have an amazing group for radical productivity, accountability, and encouragement, plus incomparable mutual support in your pro-freedom endeavors. I’ve still got a Black Friday offer going until midnight tonight, at the lowest price I’ll ever offer EBA membership subscription.
But even if EBA is not for you—maybe your schedule or location prevents you from attending the meetings—I invite you to reach out. I believe that every one of us has a piece to the puzzle of how to unfuck the future, and if I can help you figure your piece out and how it connects to other people’s pieces, I’m delighted to do so.
Extremely,
Starr
Feels really important to me to admit that I am afraid of what they are capable of, but also that I am not governed by this fear to the extent of allowing it to limit my action.
I should have come in today, I was working on wed post because my schedule is all messed up at the day job...
