I'm quite familiar with the Hopi regeneration myths and think of them now and then, as just recently. A goor friend and a kind of mentor of mine when I was in my early thirties had spent 9 years following Hopi elder White Bear around, learning about keeping the door of vulnerability open to the wisdom and guidance of the universe.

Thanks, Tobin! I think about them often, too. I learned them from a The Book of the Hopi, which I picked up for $1.00 at Goodwill a couple years ago. One of the best dollars I’ve ever spent. It dovetailed so perfectly with themes I’d been ruminating on and ended up substantially undergirding my worldview.

One of the coolest parts is being able to see impossible seeming commonalities between their beliefs and those of other, far-removed cultures. Well, impossible only if you accept the conventional wisdom about cultures having parted ways for distant continents before the first sign of civilization. Things like the chakra system and flood myths.
