Painter of Life,
I thank you for the singular gift
of this spirit and life.
You who sketched the cosmos,
shaded the earth,
and tinted the skies,
who, in the beginning,
imagined the miracle of my existence,
unique in all the dazzling oneness,
and making it so,
saw that it was good.
You drew the lines of this body
and the contours of this mind,
filling me in with color and light,
imbuing me
with imagination and the power
to join you in painting.
Fill my pallette
with tints of love,
with hues of remembrance,
that even my sorrow may be
imbued with the colors of home.
Make my sketch lines bold,
my brush strokes gentle,
my canvas pleasing to the cosmic eye.
When all is completed, I hope
to stand in the dazzling oneness,
hand in hand,
breath in breath
with all creation, and,
looking upon time’s tapestry,
see that it is good.
Amen. Truly.
Thank you for praying with me. Interiorly and exteriorly, it helps more than you know.
