What Little I Have
Prayer of the week
In those days, when again a great crowd had gathered, and they had nothing to eat, he called his disciples to him and said to them, “I have compassion on the crowd, because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. And if I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way. And some of them have come from far away.” And his disciples answered him, “How can one feed these people with bread here in this desolate place?” And he asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven.” And he directed the crowd to sit down on the ground. And he took the seven loaves, and having given thanks, he broke them and gave them to his disciples to set before the people; and they set them before the crowd. And they had a few small fish. And having blessed them, he said that these should also be set before them. And they ate and were satisfied. And they took up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full.
Mark 8:1-8 (ESV)
What little I have,
I place in your hands.
What little possessions,
what little strength,
what little trust,
what little wisdom,
what little love.
Everything that is of any worth,
and without regard to risk,
I place these in your hands
to do with as you will.
I assent in my heart
to the miracle of multiplication.
Not just in a moment long ago
of crowds fed with loaves and fishes,
but eternally patterned
into eggs and seedpods,
multiplying life and love
in every aspect of your creation.
Let the good seeds you have sown with me
bring forth great trees
and many more seeds in time.
I bless them and
I place them in your hands, my God,
what little I have.
Amen.

Previous Prayers of the Week:
In the Sweet Here-Now
At any moment, in any place, no matter what is going on around us, it is always possible to be with God. We can sink into stillness, be present with His presence, and let our busy-ness, anxiety, regret, or whatever is troubling us melt away. It can be for a dedicated few minutes or a half hour, and once we get the hang of it we can even drop in to that …

Thats a beautiful prayer to share 💓
Thanks! I needed that reminding just now. Teared up my eyes, but that's when you know the prayer is hitting you right in the gut. (Or the soul.... added this as an afterthought).
How are things progressing in NC? (no need of an answer. I just love you all).
